Building a better community with innovation and technology is one of the most concerned issues among public and young generations. Supported by the Education Bureau (EDB), Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), Hong Kong Island School Heads Association, Kowloon Region School Heads Association, New Territories School Heads Association, and IVE Engineering, the Award Ceremony & VPET Project Exhibition of the “Hong Kong VPET Competition for Secondary Schools 2022” was held on 5 November in D·PARK. Titled "To Build a Better Community with VPET skills", the competition aimed to invite young generation’s ideas to solve real-life problems in the community with Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) ideas and skills.

Eight awards have been presented in the ceremony, including the Champion, 1^st Runner-up, 2^nd Runner-up, the Most Creative Award and four Awards of Merit. To inspire public’s interest on the application of innovation and technology in the daily living, the awardees introduced their prototypes and ideas, as well as answered questions from guests and participants after the ceremony. Showcasing innovation and technology of VPET at the booths, young students are encouraged to develop their talent and realise their potentials, with a view to becoming professional and skillful talents and excelling in the new age.
